Lake Vera is a small
reservoir of only 15 acres
and is very sensitive to
even mild drought
conditions in California
and the Sierras.  The lake
is a primarily a snow melt
lake, low snow pack and
low rainfall can leave our
lake quite low towards
the end of the summer.
In most cases it is still
suitable for canoeing, but
does not look as pretty.
We are located about 3
miles from the Yuba River
along Hwy 49 with
multiple family swimming
areas as well as Scotts
Flat Reservoir about 5
miles away on Hwy 20.

If having the lake in
perfect condition is a
deal breaker for you, then
consider having your
event earlier in the
summer.  While there is
still a lot to do at Camp
Watanda. the lake is out
of our control.
